Five drinkers met at the Water Witch at noon for the annual Christmas beers walk around Lancaster. With no Christmas ales on, most of the party tried the Spinners Gold from Wigan’s Martland Mill Brewery, but York ‘Nippy Night’ soon came on. Over the water to the Toll House Inn, and Thwaites ‘Yule Love It’ was sampled, back along the canal towpath to the White Cross, and 3B’s ‘Santa’s Skinful’ and Wells ‘A Good Stuffing’. Along to the top Wetherspoons, where there were two Lytham Brewery beers on, ‘Ho Ho Ho’ and ‘Bad Elf‘. Back to the Pendle Witch and Lancaster Brewery seasonal, the ‘Chestnut Red’ was the only real ale available. We looked in the Robert Gillow and Marlpool Dark Mild was on, Mark Cutter provided some snacks for the party. We finished in the Merchants and OSB ‘Nativity’.
