CAMRA Lunesdale

Club of the Year 2017: Silverdale Golf Club

The Lunesdale Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) has chosen the Silverdale Golf Club to be its Club of the Year. The award was presented at the club on Thursday 27 April. The Sandstone Ukulele Band (based in Carnforth) played to the assembled golfers and drinkers. Branch chairman Barry Young, presenting the award, said, “We don’t give this award very often, but this club has a great steward."

Club captain, Rob Hollingworth concurred.

Steward Stephen Edwards, known as “Eddie", keeps three handpulled beers on his bar. The club bar is open to the public and there is an annual “Beer and Golf Festival”which even non-golfers can enjoy.
