Sunday 19th January 2020 Gill organised a great pub crawl around Heysham, which was well attended. Starting in the Bookmakers at 12.30, specially opening early, it’s normally 2pm on a Sunday. As it’s the best pub we lingered longer in there, I tried the Vocation Chop & Change’ from Hebden Bridge, a Frome ‘Gulp IPA’ from Somerset and a local Avid Irish Coffee Stout. Moving on almost next door to the Strawberry Gardens and a Greene King ‘London Glory‘, continuing our walk to the Old Hall and a Cross Bay Hope & Glory Bitter. I caught the bus down to the village, but most of the party walked and my last stop the Royal, very busy with diners. I sampled a Cross Bay ‘Zenith’ and a Thwaites ‘Amber’. Some of the party returned to the Bookmakers.
