The West Coast Main Line sweeps past on one side, the M6 the other, but it’s a long way to the nearest junction and even longer to the nearest open station. The bar-room consists of several linked spaces: there is also a separate function room-cum-restaurant. A green parakeet adds life to the place. A snooker table is available. The Lancaster Canal runs just the other side of the railway line. Music on last Wed of every month For sale.

Built in 1856 as hunting lodge for the Earl of Bective, but soon found a new use serving the passengers using the neighbouring Garstang & Catterall station (opened 1840, closed 1969).
