The 4th Morecambe Beer Festival took place over the weekend 24th, 25th and 26th September at the Trimpell Sports and Social Club. There were 40 real ales on show with 15 ciders available to sample. All the ales proved popular, especially the fruit based ones, Lemon Blonde (Salopian), Raspberry Blonde (Saltaire) and Plum Porter (Titanic) the best sellers together with Cwtch (Tiny Rebel) and Gold (Snowhill). The fruity ciders proved rather quaffable too. The first two days were mainly attended by many real ale enthusiasts who came from far and wide, Glasgow, Isle of Man, Barnsley, Manchester and one chap was from New Zealand. The sun turned up on Saturday, the cider marquee was opened up with many people sat outside soaking up some rays. They were entertained by the Morecambe Ukulele Group and Dead Man’s Hand who provided a brilliant festival atmosphere and it was great to see everybody having a great time. Inside the main hall there were still plenty of drinkers discussing the diversity of the taste sensations available on the hand pumps. The 5th MBF will be held on 22th, 23rd and 24th September 2016 at the same venue, so put it in your diary today so you don’t miss out.
