A cold and sunny day, and with Northern Rail still continuing with their strikes, we had to change our plans. 4 members left by train from Lancaster to Preston, and then a series of buses via Blackburn to Rawtenstall. We picked up two extras to make a super six. We started in the Hop Micro Pub and continued to the Northern Whisper Tap, where we met Michael from the Brewery, which doesn’t normally open on winter weekend for visits. We had several enjoyable hours sampling the various beers with knowledgeable information from Michael. We walked down, pasted the last Temperance Bar in Britain, we didn’t stop! We finished our drinking in the Casked Micro, and returned by bus and train to Lancaster.
