CHRISTMAS BEER TRIPS
by Lawrence Bland

Bar Humbug, Lancaster

Sunday 22nd December 2019

We caught buses 5 & 55 to Carnforth, starting in the Taps on the Green, walking down to the Snug, back on bus 5 to Hest Bank and the Crossing, continuing to the Little Bare, where we finished for the day, plenty of good Christmas beers except for the Snug. Crankshaft ‘It’s Snow Joke‘; Elland ‘Scrooge‘, Kelham Island ‘Drinking on the Air’; Moorhouse’s ‘Winter Spell’.

Monday 23rd December 2019

A good turn-out of ten members, although some vanished for spells to do Christmas shopping. Starting at the Water Witch, then walking along the canal to the White Cross for a good selection of Christmas beers, along to Dalton Square, but the Bar Humbug in the wigwams only had Doom Bar, so we had a half in the Borough, then walking through town down to the Three Mariners, before finishing in the Bobbin. Christmas beers I tried were — Black Sheep ‘Blitzen’ & Deeply Vale ‘Deeply Crisp & Even’; Ossett ‘Nervous Turkey’, Bulcombe ‘Chris Moose’ & Fuzzy Duck ‘Christmas Cracker’; Lytham ‘Ho Ho Ho’; Brew York ‘Fairy Tale of Brewyork’ and Hawkshead ‘Winter Red‘.
