LUNESDALE CAMRA BRANCH trip to BURNLEY

New Brew-m

by Lawrence Bland Friday 28th February 2020

On a wet day, three members caught trains from Lancaster to Preston and onto Burnley Central. Meeting up with Brian and Mike in our first port of call, the Bridge Bier Huis, we sampled the Parkway Talking Parrot and Bluestone Crystal Ruby. Continuing in the rain to the Boot, the Wetherspoons pub and a Coach House Winter Ale. A short stop in the Swan, a traditional Thwaites pub which is the oldest pub in Burnley and their IPA. We had a longer stay in the New Brew-m, the tap for the local Reedley Hallows Brewery, and sampled their New Laund Dark, Pendleside, NZ Pale and Nook of Pendle. A short walk to the Micro Swan, with beers from Worsthorne Brewery in Brierfield, I tried the Some Like it Blond. We finished at the Brun Lea, the former Wetherspoons. Before returning home from Central station.
