Traditional Victorian station hotel at slowly getting a facelift. The lounge has been turned into a tapas bar, while round the back is the modern (2016 revamp) Junction Bar, where the real ale, the games and the bands are. A micro-brewery is planned.
Built 1880. In 1900, it became the ‘Royal’ Station Hotel in recognition of the fact that the Duke of York, later to become George V, availed himself of the hotel’s hospitality during a shooting trip.
